The United States, has conducted, an operation that has killed, Osama Bin Laden, the leader of Al Qaeda. [ NOISE ] USA, USA [ NOISE ]. [ NOISE ] I, was, sitting in my living room. We were all home ready to go to bed. We were sitting, in our dorm room, prepping for finals. It's my birthday and I had all my [ NOISE ] closest friends over. Actually, his girlfriend turned around and said something about, Bin Laden's dead. Facebook first. And I was on Twitter. She read it on the phone. And then we turned on the news and heard Obama's Big speech and [ NOISE ] , we sung the national anthem. [ MUSIC ] We stood up on our chairs and sang the national anthem the full way through. [ MUSIC ] Me and these two right here, we're all roommates. We're all veterans so, the second we heard it, we started like cheering I mean like in our own living room. And my brother called me and he said, listen we're going down to Ground Zero and unfortunately we lost a lot of buddies. [ CROSSTALK ] His father was pitting and you know plus he'd be down here. Well, I think all of us can remember exactly where we were the day that this happened and everybody had, whether it was a direct relative or a friend of a friend, somehow we were all affected by this. So it's, it's bittersweet to be back here again tonight. Remembering those heroes that have yeah know, sacrificed their lives. But celebrating a victorious moment for the US. I don't think we know what we feel right now. It's a little bit of pride and a little bit of shame. [ CROSSTALK ] [ NOISE ] It's almost as strange as it was on 9 / 11 except that instead of being terrified on. [ NOISE ] I'm just really confused. We, we both, knew each other that it was very surreal and we had chills. It wasn't like, happiness like a lot of people have. It was kinda like just very, strange. Obviously, a good day, but you know, a little choked up too. [ NOISE ] [ UNKNOWN ] It just feels awesome. You know, it's something. It's a moment in time if nothing else. Tonight's a great night and nothing can bring it down. Everyone's, feeling the pride today. And, like even me. I'm having trouble speaking Mm- hm. Cuz oh, the pride. Like there's nothing, more you could say. [ CROSSTALK ] USA. It's a great day, to be American. [ NOISE ] [ CROSSTALK ] USA, USA. I'm proud to be an American but this is the first time that I've ever bought a flag. So, pretty momentous. [ CROSSTALK ] U- S- A, U- S- A When 11 happened, [ NOISE ] it was all these people coming together in such sadness but seeing everybody coming together in such happiness. It's such, a wonderful change. In, in a way it's, there's some kind of what's the word I'm looking for it's there's a little bit of closure. I think, that a lot of it is closure especially for the families of the victims. Closure, closure especially for those families that lost someone that really need. Need some. You know, for all of my fallen brothers and all of my fallen soldiers. [ NOISE ] And brother's and sister overseas, it you know. [ CROSSTALK ] Somebody, died that they loved. And, at this point the person who did it is gone also. [ NOISE ] It's a long time coming and we're here to celebrate it. [ MUSIC ] Banner yet wave [ MUSIC ] Woo! Woo!
