>> Well Santa Claus is to many Americans most definitely a white guy. In some parts of the country he looks different. There's black Santa, native American Santa and then there's Santa's cousin Pancho Claus. Warming the hearts and stuffing the stockings of Latino children across the Lone Star State.

>> 'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the casa, mama she was busy preparing the masa.

>> The tradition of Pancho Claus started here in Loboc and then moved to Mexico. And the legend goes, Santa Claus is from the North Pole and Pancho Claus is from the South Pole.

>> Pancho Claus is really only popular in Texas where he has his own local style depending on where you are. In San Antonio, Rudy Martinez opts for the ever popular black beard and sombrero. Houston's Pancho Claus Richard Reyes sports a red and black zoot suit and fedora. Pancho Claus is thought to have originated from the Chicano civil rights movement at the early 1970s. It was a way for Mexican Americans to add some of their own culture to Christmas festivities. Today, Pancho Claus is a fixture in many towns and cities in Texas. And while this version of Santa may not get the same heeded media attention as the white Kris Kringle, he still makes a lot of little Texans very happy for the holidays.
