Announcement today made by Blackberry CEO, Thornsten Heins. A normally very stoic individual got him so excited that he raised not one but 2 hands in the air. I like Blackberry. Is I'm paraphrasing but that's basically exactly like how he sounds, more or less bad idea. Depends he's hm, anyway here are ten things you should know about whats going on with Blackberry. [ MUSIC ] For starters Research In Motion, RIM is no more. The company is now just called, Blackberry. [ MUSIC ] So you say Blackberry's new Blackberrys look and fill in the blank there. Fun fact, the plural of Blackberrys is spelled with a y and not an ie. I don't make the rules, but that's how it is. [ MUSIC ] The Blackberry Z10 also known as the Zed 10, is a 4GLTE full touchscreen phone with a 4. 2 inch 1280 by 768 resolution display, dual core processor, two gigabytes of RAM, 16 gigabytes of storage, an eight megapixel rear camera, and a two megapixel. Front camera. It'll be available sometime in March, here in the U. S. on AT and T, Sprint, T- Mobile and Verizon. There's no firm date, but it should cost around $ 200 with a two- year contract. And for you old school Blackberry lovers out there. The Blackberry Q10 has and actual keyboard, a 3. 1- inch 720 by 720 display and same processor, RAM, and storage as Z- tech. It's made of a blackberry exclusive glass weave material, and the company says it's lighter and stronger than plastic. There's no word on a launch date or pricing for this one curiously, but reports may indicate we might see it in April here in the U. S. [ MUSIC ] Z10s on screen keyboard features predictive typing with each complete word above the next letter word the phone think you're going to type. the new keyboard can also switch languages on the fly you'll also notice this gentleman is typing everything with one hand which is making him smile look at that beard too That's a well manicured beard. The Hub is a collect all dumping ground for any communication services you use. Email, text messages, Facebook, Twitter, BBM, etc ., presented in a streamlined overview message. Did you buy message. You can also drill down to specific services to see only your gmail messages, for instance. [ MUSIC ] You'll notice the Z10 doesn't have any buttons on the front. That's because much of the interface is navigated with gestures. Gestures that you'll have to learn in order to use the phone. [ MUSIC ] This guy's in one app and gets a notification at which point he can peek at the Hub to see if it's from someone important, then continue swiping into the Hub to respond. That's the flow. The very popular BlackBerry Messenger is still intact, but it's now added a videoconferencing feature so you can talk with your buddies face to face. You can even share your phone's entire screen with the person on the other end to remotely show them your photos and apps. Presentations and, I don't, I don't, I don't know. What, what else would you show, whatever, whatever you wanna show em on your, your phone's screen, to show someone else. That's, you can do that now. The Remember App is something of a catch all for tasks you want to accomplish. You can save email messages, web pages, and more directly to the app, and then build a project around what you saved, adding additional items later. Remember pull's in your Evernote notebooks too. [ MUSIC ] Time shift might turn out to be one of Blackberry 10's most popular features. If you take a photo of a group of people, the phone actually grabs several snaps and then let's you adjust each person's individual face independently, even if their ideal looks happened at different points in time. [ MUSIC ] Business up front, party in the back balances Blackberry's answer for people who carry a phone for work and a second phone for personal use. Balance lets your Blackberry run two separate interfaces that can be flipped from one to the other quickly. One for work and one for fun each with distinct apps and customizations. And if you change jobs and take your Blackberry with you, the work data can be wiped out without wiping out all of your personal stuff too. [ MUSIC ] Apps are the lifeblood of any worthwhile smartphone platform, and Blackberry is promising it'll have 70, 000 apps at launch with a thousand of those apps being the same popular apps you'd find on competing platforms. There is still a handful of big names that are missing however. Netflix for example, told Time, we have no current plans for Blackberry. Netflix has no current plans to, they had to throw current in there? No current plans for Blackberry app? That leaves it wide open. Why? You know, I have no current plans to drink the rest of this vodka and cry myself to sleep. Wondering what I've been doing with my life since I graduated college. But who, who knows what's gonna happen when the camera's off. No current plans or things like that. [ SOUND ] Can we turn the camera off?
