So I kind of feel like why do I have to be the one. I know. I know it's just, it's like a personal thing and it's weird. We're gonna talk about passwords. Password security. Chances are your password is not good. Chances are you use the same password for every site. And I don't know if you noticed but [ LAUGH ] there have been some pretty high profile hacks lately. [ MUSIC ] Pretty major. So let's talk about passwords. Now conventional wisdom is held that a good password should be at least six to eight characters long, and even that's a little too short nowadays. A good password would be 12 plus characters, and be comprised of lower- case and upper- case letters, numbers and symbols, and be mostly nonsense and gibberish. There are a few good techniques you can use for building your own passwords, but I love the concept of a password recipe by Luigi Montagna. Take the number of letters in a site to which you belong. Let's say Google, that's six letters. And multiply that by the number of letters that come after the dot. Then you choose a phrase you can remember like, All's well that ends well, and grab the first letter of each word in that phrase. You take the site name, and then strip out the vowels and capitalize. That's G- G- L. Then you subtract the number of letters after the dot from the number of letters before the dot, and that my friends is your password. Now, if you don't want to put that much work into it, and let's face it, you have the same password for every website, so you don't want to put that much work into it. Do you? Do you? Just be honest. I'm not gonna get mad. I just, I'm just looking out for you. I'm on your side here. You can take a device you have with you at all times, like say your cell phone. And use the serial number on that device in every password, and then add something like a symbol after that, and then capitalize the letters and strip out the vowels. The downside of course, if some one gets a hold of one of your passwords, it's pretty easy to extrapolate how that system works for other sites. Still, it's harder to crack than one, two, three, four. I, I just feel like I went into someone's home and just started, you know, playing around with their Tupperware and then putting it back in the closet.
