## Transcript

So pretend this is the gate and the bottom of the hill is this direction. So if this is gonna be a left footed turn [ LAUGH ] and whatever I was working on at that time- Just mostly I just said get to me on the other side- Meeting you on the other side of the gate. But to do a demonstration, so you'd be like okay so you pretend you're skiing in exactly this setting. Now you're skis are, you're starting your turn, your skis are almost pointed directly down the hill. At this point, you want to get your knee on the other side of the gate. You have to use. You're giving bigger secrets than anybody on the entire world cup plan.

No, you're not. It's just, this is the position you want to be, when you're skiing. Instead of a lot of. And she used to do this when I was five years old, cuz, or not five years old, but ten, something like that. Cuz when you are starting especially when small when learning to cross block gates its really hard to visualize what it feels like to ski through a plastic pole. And most kids have a problem with blinking and flinching when they ski through the pole. And reaching. And reaching, like skiing away from the pole and then just trying to hit it cuz they think they're supposed to hit it at all cost.

She would use this as an example for me to get in a position and actually imagine myself skiing through something. So when I went on the mountain, I could say, okay, here's the pole, it's gonna look like that. And if I'm in the right position with my body, the pole will hit my hand. I don't need to try to hit the pole. And is that, the broomsitck lessons, the mop lessons, they're really important for you to becoming the skier that you are? I think so. Well, it's just It's an example of determination or motivation, whatever. But it's really an example of the ability that I have to visualize things.

And she and both my parents taught me that.
