## Transcript

>> I'll be rocking in beat.

>> For TIME. com. I'm Claire Suddath and I'm here to talk to you about the five nominees for Best Music Video for the 2010 Grammys. The Grammy Awards lean heavily towards already established platinum- selling recording [ unk ] but sometimes they have a moment of clarity. Sometimes the recording industry nominates someone small. Enter Montreal's electric duo Beast.

>> I thought I was a victim. The people hating me.

>> And their video for their trippy fast- paced Mr. Hurricane. The video follows this swum honey bees as they invade a country of cabin, morphine to some sort of bee- like human dance around and then dispersed.

>> Let it go, let it go.

>> And in the darkness.

>> Another light. -[ unk ] in the madness.

>> Then take pills.

>> And in the [ unk ].

>> I love the beast, y'all.

>> Boom, boom, boom. Gotta get, get.

>> The Black- eyed Peas' Boom, Boom Pow, is sort of the Avatar music videos. I'm supposed to be so dazzled by the futuristic animation and special effects that I pay no attention to the bare- bone song which contains lyrics like,

>> I'm so 3008, you sold 2000 late.

>> Yeah. I'm not feeling it.

>> Boom, boom, boom. That if you should boom, boom, boom. Let me get in that--

>> This is wild wind blowing.

>> Life in technical or two, is an extravagant video that fits nicely with Coldplay's big multi- layered sound. Leave it to Chris Martin to turn a simple marionette puppet show into a pyrotechnics display. Music geeks maybe interested to know that the videos' director Dougal Wilson also made LCD's sound system tribulation video.

>> But I feel all right. When I come undone, you and--

>> The rest of us, well we just like to watch the puppet. Depeche Mode's Wrong doesn't look like a music video.

>> I was born with the wrong sing in the wrong house with the wrong ascendancy.

>> It's more like a very, very short movie with the car chase, a hostage I think and a dark deeply disturbance song to go along with it. Not that wish to expect anything lust from Patrick Daughters, the brains behind many yeah, yeah, yes videos and Feist 1, 2, 3, 4 dance routine. A plus.

>> Wrong.

>> Oren Lavie, the Israeli- born musician wrote the music, perform the song and directed this elegant stop- motion music video.

>> Sun been down for days.

>> He's not as famous as some of his Grammy competitors but that didn't stop the YouTube of his song, Her Morning Elegance from getting over 10 million hits.

>> And she fights for her life as she puts on her coat and she fights for her life on the train.

>> The Grammy Awards air this Sunday night on CBS. For more coverage, go to time. com.

>> And she fights for her life as she goes in the store where the people are pleasantly strange.
