That's the promise from a new point and shoot camera from Lytro. The rectangular gadget looks like anything but a traditional camera, which is probably a good thing since, well, this is anything but a traditional camera. [ MUSIC ] My name is Eric Cheng, I'm the director of photography at Lytro. And, I'm here to show you the first consumer light field camera. The Lightro light field camera. It's not just a traditional 2D camera, but it captures the direction of light at each point of capture. So, what that allows us to do is refocus pictures after the fact. So the camera is designed to be very simple. There are two only two buttons on it, the power button and the shutter button and you turn the camera on you'll see that there's an LCD on the back which is touch sensitive and to zoom the camera, there's a touch sensitive Strip here on the top, and you just, drag your finger left and right. Cause it, having to take a picture here of this other camera. What's great is you can refocus this picture right on the back of the camera. So now the nitro camera is in focus, and if we look in the back ground that there is something blurry, and we will tap on it, and we will see, that is a purse. There is a picture of Gretchen, smiling, you can focus on the background in fact you can see you in the reflection right there. Wow. And see Gretchen's face there. While being able to refocus your own photos yourself is pretty cool, what's even cooler is that photos you upload and share online can be refocused by others. Lytro refers to the imagery its cameras capture as living photos, which seems pretty appropriate. The cameras aren't exactly cheap. They start at $ 400, they don't have a flash. They have limited storage space but this video admittedly doesn't do justice to what these cameras are capable of. If you have a chance to check one out in person I definitely recommend it.
