## Transcript

The Phoenix Catholic community mourns after the shooting death of one of its priests. As of Thursday morning, a second priest who called 911 was still in critical condition. One of the victims, we understand, actually made that call after a robbery attempt here at the Mother of Mis, Mercy Mission. When police finally did arrive, they found that one priest had been shot to death and the other had been badly beaten. Father Kenneth Walker on the left and then, on the right, Father Joseph Terra. Terra was injured here while Father Walker is the one who did not survive a gun shot. The Diocese in Phoenix identified both priests early Thursday asking for prayers for everyone involved.

Immediately following the shooting, Phoenix police announced they were looking for a stolen SUV they believed belonged to one of the priests. Officers recovered that vehicle quickly, but continue looking for the suspect or suspects Thursday morning. Father Walker was only 28 years old, parishioners who knew him said he was ordained just two years ago. Ready to help just about anybody who, you know, I'm too upset, that's enough. The local diocese says Father Terra is considered stable at this point but remains in critical condition. I'm Lauren Garris, thanks for watching.
