Beautiful little kids between the ages of five and ten years old. [ MUSIC ] The Sandy Hook massacre is one of the hardest days of the presidency for Barack Obama, and I think after that moment the president really thought There was an opportunity or something that needed to be done to address gun control in the US. He fought to get gun control legislation passed in the congress, but it failed. And he fought again to implement an executive action on gun control. But all the while There were maybe over a dozen mass shootings under the Obama administration. Gun control is something that he had always favored but he just couldn't do anything about because the country is really divided on this. It's an urban versus rural issue, it's a Republican versus Democratic issue. So the Sandy Hook massacre happened just a few weeks after his re- election 2012 Many of his staff will say that it was the most emotional day they remember at the White House. It was a combination of the enormous feeling of elation that came out of the campaign and the realization of the limits of his power. Because while nothing can fill the space of a lost child or a loved one All of us can extend a hand to those in need. To remind them that we are there for them. That we are praying for them.
