[ Music ] Hi, I'm Lisa Lee Freeman with a quick shopping tip for even quicker savings. Let's face it. Haggling makes most of us squirm but by not trying to negotiate you might be missing out on hidden discounts. Here are three painless ways to negotiate a better deal. Deal. Number 1. Just ask and ask nicely. Many times sales people have the ability to give you an extra discount. So, simply say to the sales person or store manager that your on a tight budget. And you want to know if they can do a better deal on the price. Odds are they'll knock a few dollars off the price. Number 2. God for the volume discount.

Discount. If you're thinking about buying more than one of something, see if the store can give you a discount for buying multiple items. I've used this trick at a boutique when I was buying earrings and even at a department store when I was buying shoes, but you can also you this trick on big items. Say you're buying two or more appliances or furniture pieces. Finally, offer to pay cash. Ask if the store could give you a better deal if you pay cash. This trick works for contractors, but also many independently owned stores that are burdened with credit card fees might be willing to give you a better price for cash.

Worst case, they say no, so you've got nothing to lose, Happy shopping. [ MUSIC ]
