## Transcript

Welcome to the PageCast. It's Friday, July 18th. I'm Mark Halperin in Gotham City with your three things to watch for in politics today, around the water cooler. First, Barack Obama's international trip, watch to see how his campaign stage manages the beginning of this trip. Lots of focus on the trip and it's not all happening by accident as Bill Clinton likes to say. We can see a turtle on a fence post that didn't get their by itself. Watch to see how the campaign is stage manning these details for maximum effect. Second, watch how the media covers this trip. A lot of focus on the fact that Obama's trip is getting a big media coverage-- will get big media coverage.

Watch to see how the print coverage of the fact that the network's planning to do so much impacts how the networks cover this trip. This is a big moment in the campaign. Watch to see what kind of coverage Obama gets. And then finally, John McCain in Michigan-- Michigan, as for many analysts, the key to the entire election, watch to see how McCain does there particularly in talking about the economy, which is issue number one for Michiganders. Those are your three things to watch for in politics today as we head into this weekend. You can get all the political news all the time right here on The Page.

For now in Gotham City around the water cooler, I'm Mark Halperin. Thanks for watching the PageCast.
