## Transcript

Google's got a lot of employee perks. Free hair cuts, free food, campus gyms, cozy corporate offices you can pretty much live in. So its no surprise that it topped this year's Glass Door list of the 50 best places to work. Glass Door serves as something of a Yelp. For employers. Allowing employees to rate their companies anonymously and giving others a glimpse into how much current folks earn. To create their annual list, Glassdoor takes companies with more then 1, 000 employee and ranks them in order of their average employee rating over the year. Google came out on top, while Bain & Company, a consulting firm was the runner up.

While not quite as well known as Google, the Boston based Bain & Company has actually scored in one of the top four spots every year since Glass Door starting breaking companies in 2009. So apparently, it's doing something right. Tech Company start up culture is well known for giving out generous employee. Perks, a practice sometimes subject to satire. Lots of perks here. We've got the refrigerator that's filled with Red Bull and pudding, you know? And that puts you in that childlike state of mind, you know? Which is where I feel the best ideas come. But aside from Google, the only other tech company to crack Glass Door's top ten was F5 Networks, a Seattle based networking technology company.

Still tech companies had the highest showing out of the top 50 names. Is taking up a total of 14 spots. Facebook, which came in fifth last year, fell down to number 13 this year, while Apple made the jump from 35th place to 22nd. One of the most notable shifts was Twitter. While the social media giant came in second place last year, it. Disappeared from the list completely this year. One former employee writes on Glass Door that the company has been bleeding culture as the old timers leave and the hiring process is slanted towards what have been described fairly accurately as worker bees from Google.

GlassDoor's cofounder and CEO, Robert Hohman told Market Watch, the changes aren't all that surprising since company's tend to experience a little turbulence after going public. On the business side that turbulence includes a drop of more than 40 % in stock value this year. Ouch. Still, there are some good surprises such as the appearance of In- N- Out Burger at number eight. Speaking to the fast food company, Glass Door's career trims analysts credited the ranking to higher than average hourly wage and good career opportunities
