[ MUSIC ] In a world that has a power vacuum, it's really great to be infallible. Everyone is being second guessed and second guessing themselves. It's hard for that to happen with Pope Francis. [ MUSIC ] You have this global refugee issue that individual leaders aren't stepping up for, and Pope Francis is stepping into the perish and is calling on people to do more. He has a level of legitimacy which is extraordinary given just how delegitimized the Catholic church has become over previous years and previous Popes. But it shows That, first of all, in a G- Zero world, non- governmental organizations can matter more, because there is just a desire, there's a hunger, for leadership.

[ APPLAUSE ] As much as Pope Francis has been inspirational on issues like inequality He's also a Catholic, and I say this as a Catholic myself, there's a lot of anti- progressiveness. There's a lot of anti- technology, a lot of anti- science in that message and you see it if you read into the Encyclical on climate. You certainly see it if you think about some of the anti- Capitalist messages The pope is very far from being a pro- globalization force and that gives him enormous latitude to say things that are incredibly important and need to be said for world's underclasses but it also is not necessary to be taken as a solution that is workable.
