## Transcript

The sheer amount of cash that plays a role in the political system has absolutely degraded what american democracy stands for. [ Donald Trump and the two thousand sixteen election. Ian Bremmer .] And you say, oh my god, Trumps a multi billionaire, how can you possibly align yourself with someone like that? They didn't like Romney Cuz he was so rich. No, no, no. They didn't like Romney because they felt he was a patrician that was bought into the establishment. Trump has cast himself effectively as the antithesis of that. Remember this, they have total control over Jeb and Hillary and everybody else that takes that money.

Nobody knows the system better than me. The Romneys of the world, the Clintons of the world, the Bushes of the world have all gone to Trump. And asked for cash and of course if you're asking for money you're getting something in return. That's a message that most American voters, myself included by the way really want to hear people stand against the establishment. They stand against political figures and they stand against the fact that money has bought elections. [ CROSSTALK ] I think there are more people that are ready for what Trump stands against than what Trump stands for. We have so many of our own problems, including the border, including the wall, which we will get built.

But I think a lot of people stand against them. I think that alignment's really important. Since he does stand in opposition to all of that establishment cash, that when they decide which candidate, of the other dozen plus, they want to get behind, they will and ultimately that person will destroy Trump and his message. But the importance of the message is there, and this is not an American point, this is a much broader point. Point that disenfranchisement of middle classes particularly in advanced industrial democracies. Together with the reality of social media and engagement have allowed The voice of individuals to become much louder in challenging the establishment.
