[ MUSIC ] Two months into the 2018 to 19 MBA season, the 2018 draft class is off to a hot start. In previous years we've seen superstars emerge from their rookie class. But the sheer number of MBA ready players impacting their teams this season Makes this a standout class to watch. Luka Doncic has made the biggest impact for a rookie this season, not only in the league, but for his team. The Dallas Mavericks, which were 24 and 58 last season are eighth in the NBA's Western Conference at 14 and 11. Doncic is the rookie that pushed the Mavericks into the playoff race. He's also a top 40 scorer in the league, leading Dallas with 18.

2 points per game. And in a breakout moment, Doncic actually carried Dallas for its 13th win over the Houston Rockets, rattling off 11 consecutive 4th quarter points, fueling the teams comeback. As the early front runner for rookie of the year, all signs are pointing to a player capable of galvanizing fans and leading the Maverick's back to relevance. Atlanta Hawks rookie Trey Young is still adjusting to the NBA. Young has one of the lowest shooting percentages in the league, and is shooting a 24. 3 % from a three point range. But he was still named the Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month for October and November, after he led all first year players in the east with 15.

6 points and 7. 6 assists per game. His skill and confidence have drawn comparisons to Steph Curry. Young was the first rookie since Curry to score 35 points and make at least 10 assists in a game. And he leads the NBA with his deep shots. Young may be facing a rookie wall with his diminishing shooting percentage while he's targeted by the best defenders in the league. But he's given the Hawks the most promise for a rookie as he plays a lead role in the team's rebuild. The Hawks are the sixths worst shooting team overall. Young's confidence to keep on shooting through his struggles proves he has the right mentality for his rookie season and the team's future.

Deandre Ayton, the first overall pick of 2018 is leaving his mark on the Phoenix Suns. He is currently averaging a double double after 26 games with 16 points and 10 rebounds per game. And Ayton's sky high shooting percentage of 62. 5 proves why he was a top draft pick. But the Suns still have a long way to go as a team, currently ranking last in the Western Conference. The Suns will get another high lottery pick to build their young core And their long game. Jaren Jackson Jr ., the league's youngest player and fourth overall draft pick, is turning heads across the NBA. In the nine games that he's played 30 minutes or more, the young forward has averaged 18.

6 points. And 6. 4 rebounds. The Jackson 36 point game against the Brooklyn Nets was the highest scoring performance of any rookie this season. His impact at just 19 years old is note worthy, as the Grizzlies build their team for the future. Even less notable rookies, like Donte Divincenzo, Mitchell Robinson and Landry Shamet have done well this season, and have support their team's success. With such a stellar rookie class teams like Chicago and Houston might be able to place their hopes on the next crop of NBA first rounders to boost their game quickly.
