## Transcript

Thursday morning, the Television Academy released its nominations for the 66th Prime Time Emmy Awards. And according to them, if you want to watch excellent television, you're gonna need a cable box or a Netflix subscription. And the nominees are in True Detective, House of Cards, Fargo, A True Detective, Fargo. House of Cards. Game of Thrones dominated with 19 nominations total. Including a best drama series nod and a pair of noms for the Lanaster siblings. HBOs True Detective is also getting recognition in the best drama category and for stars, Matthew Mcconaughey and Woody Harrison. But while you have to wait a grueling seven days for the next episode of your favorite HBO show, Netflix continues to make it's case for binge watching with 31 nominations.

The streaming service had 14 nods in 2013 meaning it's more than doubled it's numbers. We're assuming, well, we're not assuming. Frank Underwood must have had something to do with this. And the butchery begins. The one- two- punch of House of Cards and this year, Orange Is the New Black gave Netflix a real presence in its second year at the awards show. Though cable is still dominating the nominations, one network television show does have a shot at history. ABC's Modern Family is up for Outstanding Comedy Series again this year, and a win would make it the first comedy since Frasier to take the award five consecutive times.

The 66th annual Emmy Awards will be held August 25th. Thanks for watching, I'm Jamaal Andrews.
