Hi, I'm Megan Leonhardt. I'm sitting here with Sally Krawcheck and were gonna talk a little bit about women and their wealth today. Sally, I want to ask, you've been a big proponent about women and getting them to save more. But what is it that women really need to be saving for, what are their goals that you've seen that they really need? What we found with women is that their goals aren't really, I just want more money. Their goals are yes, I want more money so I can start a business, buy a house, retire well, take that trip around the world. And again, it's really good, but so far, the number one goal is buy a home.

Buy a home. Very interesting. We have a potentially historic election coming up for women in particular. Have you been following along? Any thoughts on this? I think it is an historic election regardless of which way it goes. [ LAUGH ] I try to stay away from politics. What I will tell you is interesting from a female Perspective. Yeah. It's not just that we have a female who's running for president, although that is historic. But that we're actually beginning to have a conversation about paid parental leave. Yes. Now as you're aware, we're the only developed country in the world who doesn't have it.

Right. It is so costly for women as mothers. And what I think the conversation's beginning to move to is that a paid parental leave can actually be good, not just for the mothers and the babies and the families, but for the retirement savings process. There we go. There we go, which in this country is actually a woman's issue. And we can give women parental break. The longer a break we can give here, the more likely she is to come back to work. The more likely she is to contribute to Social Security and her 401k, right. And continue to earn and grow the economy. And there's actually recent research that shows that this pays off for companies in the first year.

That's impressive. In the first year, so I managed to squiggle my way away from whatever Donald Trump question you wanted me to answer. [ LAUGH ] And I moved into something that I think matters. I do think it matters and this is really an important issue, certainly something we talk about at money all the time. So I appreciate you weighing in on it. [ MUSIC ]
