## Transcript

Apple's quarterly earnings report comes out Tuesday and from the looks of it, it's going to be big. Just how big? Analysts estimate Apple's first quarter revenue will be somewhere around $ 68 billion.. About $ 2 billion higher than Apples' own guidance. It's a huge number, one that Fortune's Apple analyst expects to be one of the biggest in U. S. corporate history. From the looks of it the rise in revenue will be mostly thanks to iPhone sales. Analysis polled by Fortune estimate Apple pushed around 65 million units, which is up from the 51 million iPhones sold this time last year. And with iPhone sales come average iPhone sales price, an estimate that varies.

[ UNKNOWN ] is guessing the ASP will be somewhere around $ 672 per a phone. Either way it's clear folks think the iPhone six has been a huge success. The iPad, however, isn't expected to have done so well. Estimate for Apple's tablet puts its total units sold at around 21 million, down from the 26 million pushed out last year. Wired suggests the waning interest may be simply because the iPad's glamour has worn off since its 2010 debut. The thought process is that smartphones and laptops already do everything an iPad can do, making it less necessary. Other than iPad and iPhone numbers, there maybe some hints as to Apple's future plans, such as the Apple Watch.

Apple will announce its first quarter financial results at 5: 00 p. m. Eastern Time and the call will be available to live stream on its website.
