## Transcript

2014 saw thousands around the world stand up for what they believe. They fundraised, fought for democracy, treated the sick, these are the selfless ones. In West Africa, hundreds of health workers are fighting to stop an unprecedented outbreak of Ebola. They left their loved ones behind, heading straight into the heart of the epidemic. More than 200 doctors and nurses have died doing this heroic work. [ NOISE ] On the other side of the world, thousand in Hong Kong are in the streets demanding a political. Their multicolor umbrellas have become a symbol of peaceful resistance. Leading that movement is 18- year- old Joshua Wong.

To some, he's a threat to national order, to others, an inspirational source of hope. Another movement asks less of its participants. Participants. But the potential influence is no less real. Millions of others around the world stood up to find a cure for a terminal disease, by dumping buckets of ice cold water on their heads. Oh, good! With the ice bucket challenge, the goal wasn't just viral. Let's do int. All right. Whoa! It was vital, to fund raise for ALS. A rare genetic disease. Behind the idea, Pete Frates and Pat Quinn, two guys determined to find a creative way to beat the disease they share.
