The day before President Obama visited Athens County. The only one is southeast Ohio to vote Democrat in 2008. The issue of early voting in the state was settled. I also came here today in Ohio because I want your vote. Alright. I am not too proud to beg. I want you to vote. [ INAUDIBLE ] Should be able to vote? I did, I actually did early voting because I know people that are like I'm not gonna vote because I don't want to stand in the line and I don't want to like spend time doing it. [ NOISE ] Absentee voting has been around for as many years as I've been here and that's been 20. But, it's been labeled early voting. Because people come in and vote early but they're actually absentee voting. A House bill had previously been issued stating that there would be no in- person voting the three days leading up to the election, with an exception for members of the military. You have so many opportunities to be able to vote by absentee. You can do that here in person, and that's why our bi- partisan association wanted those last couple days to get ready for the election day voters. [ NOISE ] When the Obama campaign and Ohio Democrats sued to overturn the bill, the Court of Appeals in Cincinnati, ruled that early voting must be offered to all voters equally. [ NOISE ] Like small. I feel like a lot of people feel like they're like under pressure and stuff like that, when they're waiting in line and have a lot of people behind them. And, they're like absentee Early voting is definitely a good thing. I know when I worked construction, I worked six or seven days. And I couldn't get in to vote anytime I wanted to. I voted the first day we could vote. But I never know when I'm gonna be back. [ UNKNOWN ] The Supreme Court declined to hear an appeal to the lower courts ruling, meaning local board of elections would stay open Saturday, Sunday, and Monday before Election Day, November sixth. In 2008, more than 100, 000 votes were cast in that time. Well I'm glad that the Supreme Court came out and, when in favor for the early voting, because it really is an inconvenient for work and people to only vote that one day. A large percent of the presidents who actually won have not won unless they won the state of Ohio. So the state of Ohio is extremely important. I guess we're just an important state so, you know, we wanna make sure we're consistent. All 88 counties do the same thing. We're gonna be ready and do it but I wish we'd remember those election day voters. It, there still is an election day [ CROSSTALK ] You can vote in Ohio, right now. So what do you say, Ohio?
