## Transcript

It's here folks. The first comic book- based blow it up multimillion dollar budget film of the summer movie season has finally swung its way into U. S. theatres. And unsurprisingly, it did pretty well. But we begin with the blue birds in Brazil. Hey. Wait a second. It's gonna be so much fun. This is the fourth week Rio 2 has remained in the top five at the box office. Though it was never able to pass Captain America, the animated film has done well in American theaters, with a domestic box office total of $ 106 million, and has almost tripled that total around the world, with $ 286 million worldwide.

Fourth in the box office this weekend is the record- breaking Captain America: The Winter Soldier. After spending three weeks in the top spot and demolishing the record for an April release, the first avenger has finally simmered down, bringing in just $ 7. 7 million this weekend. He saw things that I can't really explain. Heaven is for Real, the faith film based on the New York Times bestseller of the same name, remains in the number three spot at the box office this week. With a production budget of just $ 12 million, Heaven is for Real is doing exceptionally well in the U. S. theaters, bringing in more than five times that amount in ticket sales.

Just after three weeks. The Other Woman slips to number two this week. After bringing in $ 24 million its debut weekend and finally knocking Captain America from its perch, the romantic comedy is expected to bring in $ 16 million its second week out. The Other Woman stars Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann, and. Kate Upton, and while it has been bashed by critics, it is the first potential box office hit for Diaz since Bad Teacher in 2011. You know what it is I love about being Spider Man? And commanding first place at the box office this weekend, with an estimated $ 92 million opening. Is the highly anticipated Amazing Spider Man 2.

It stars Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker, and Emma Stone as Spidey's original love interest, Gwen Stacy. But even the webslingers strong weekend doesn't compare with Marvel's previous openers for the big budget summer film season. The reboot comes in after the Avengers, Three Iron Man films, and two of the original Spiderman movies with Tobey Maguire. All of which were released in the first weekend of May. Thanks for watching, I'm Jamal Andrews.
