## Transcript

Israel's government is showing no signs of stepping back from it's bombing of the Gaza Strip. Of the estimated 150 people killed by Israel bombings, the U. N. says 77 % of them are civilians. Israel's military says it's trying to minimize the number of civilian casualty. The Israel's defense forces dropped leaflets in Gaza today, warning people to leave. But Manuel Hassassian, the Palestinians governments envoy to the UK, called that claim ridiculous. Where do they have to go? There are no shelters, no bunkers, no place to go except their homes. If they leave their home, they will be hit on the streets.

The attacks from both Israel, and with a less deadly result from Gaza. Come amid increasing international pressure for a cease fire. The UN Security Council passed a unanimous resolution expressing grave concern of the escalation of violence and the deterioration of the situation in the occupied Palestinian territory. And typical intermediaries are rushing to find a diplomatic solution. The U. S ., obviously, Egypt, Qatar, Tony Blair's office, also Turkey are involved in important talks about a possible new cease fire. But the one thing Israeli and Palestinian leaders seem to agree on, is the violence won't stop any- time soon.

Yuval Steinitz, the Israeli Prime Minister of Strategic Affairs said, the goal is demilitarization. And compared current operations to a root canal. Meanwhile Palestinian spokesman Osama Hamden said, there will be no truce until the blockade on Gaza has been lifted. So far no Israelis have been killed by rockets launched by Hamas.
