[ MUSIC ] One of the mistakes that people make in retirement is that they're too worried to be invested in the stock market because they don't understand stock market. So they don't allow themselves to have the opportunity for growth. I'll have people come and show me their bank accounts They're IRA accounts, they're 41K accounts, and the both of their investments are savings. They're not really investments. They're in money market accounts and maybe CDs. That's a big mistake because if you're not Looking at growing your assets over time, and maybe getting a better return on your money through dividends, then you're probably losing ground to something that I call the invisible monster, and that's inflation.

And it's something that you need to be aware of a $ 1. 00 10 years from now will not buy as much as $ 1. 00 today. If I have money in a bank account earning a very low rate of return, than every year that money is losing grounds from inflation. An example, I'm earning 1 % of my money and inflation is 2 % so I will always be losing ground and having an erosion of purchasing power going forward. And that's the critical problem that most People planning for retirement, don't think about. They work hard. They don't allow their money to work as hard as they are working. [ MUSIC ]
