## Transcript

Today we mark a significant milestone in CBP's implementation of the President's 25 January executive order on border security and immigration enforcement improvements. Which among other things directs the secretary of Homeland Security to take all appropriate steps to plan, design, and construct a physical wall along the southern border. Through the construction of prototypes, we are partnering with the industry to identify the best way to build new and replacement infrastructure along our border before we make further investments. The prototype approach reflects CDP's commitment to being good stewards of our funding resource.

Specifically CDP asked industry input. For conceptual wall designs for reinforced concrete, as well as alternative material, with the intent to construct multiple wall prototypes in the San Diego area. These prototypes, which are intended to deter illegal crossings, will help us refine the design standards And security requirements that will meet the needs of US border patrol. [ UNKNOWN ] Expect to oversee the construction of four to eight prototypes. Completion of the prototypes construction is expected within 30 days after the insurance of a notice to proceed with construction.
