## Transcript

Well known as a daring stunt pilot for decades, a 77 year old California man died Sunday as tens of thousands looked on at an air show near San Francisco. Amateur video captures the smoky aftermath of the fatal plane crash of a vintage biplane. An abrupt end to the popular Travis Airforce Base Thunder Over Solano Air Expo. [ NOISE ]. Upside down a little low. This is raw video of the crash. Eddy Andrini was trying to do an inverted trick by having the top of his Stearman BiPlane cut a ribbon suspended only feet off the ground. While an Air Force colonel told reporters at a press conference, the emergency response notification was immediate, witnesses questioned how long it took for fire crews to reach Andrini.

A photographer at the air show said he counted two and a half minutes before anyone with a fire extinguisher got to the plane, and five minutes for fire crews. I would like to think that he could've survived if they had been able to get there faster. This witness about 100 yards away, snapped these photos and says the skid didn't seem to collapse the cockpit. Andrini flew air shows for more than 25 years, and was even inducted into the International Council of Air Shows Hall of Fame just last year. Andrini said he learned to fly at 16 years old, and paid for his first plane with money he made working on his fathers farm or fixing cars on the weekends.

The Air Force Colonel told reporters, winds were blowing at 12 to 18 miles per hour, and no spectators were hurt in the crash. But the NTSB is still looking for a cause. Thanks for watching, I'm Meghan Judy.
