Everyone's got open layouts. In fact 70 % of offices today are an open layout plan, but just because that's the setup, does not mean you have to deal with a loud co- worker. You have a couple of options. First, just have a professional, polite conversation. You know, the coworker might not really even be aware that they're doing it. You could say, you know, we can hear all your personal business, so let them know that this is something that they may want to keep things more quiet [ MUSIC ] If you feel too awkward about having that conversation, talk to your boss. Don't rat out your colleague. You don't, no need to name any names. Just say, you know, there's a lot of noise around me. I'm having a hard time getting my work done. Is there anything you could do? Maybe, you know, talk to some folks, and make sure everybody knows that they have to be mindful of other people. Another options is just to simply ask your boss to move your desk to a quieter area. You know, some people really do thrive in a very bustling loud atmosphere. But if that's not you, think about it, we spend so much time at work, this is not something you have to live with.
