## Transcript

Just five years after the deadliest shooting on an American military post in U. S. history, another deadly attack has crushed the Fort Hood military post. We're covering reports of a shooting at Fort Hood in Texas. Brian, four people are now reported dead in this shooting rampage. Obviously, this reopens the pain of what happened in Fort Hood five years ago. The alleged shooter has been identified as Army Specialist Ivan Lopez. Lopez had just moved to Killeen, Texas to work at the post in February. Neighbors say Lopez lived in Killeen with his wife and young daughter who have reportedly been cooperating with military officials.

You never know who you live next door to. She said that he seemed very happy, was always smiling or laughing. Seemed very outgoing. So, two very different pictures of this man. During a press conference, Lieutenant General Mark Milley delivered some initial information about the shooter's background. He was currently under diagnosis for PTSD. But he had not yet been diagnosed for PTSD. He was undergoing behavior health and psychiatric treatment for depression. And anxiety and a variety of other psychological and psychiatric issues. One thing Milley did not cover was motive. We still don't know what could've possibly pushed this soldier to allegedly try to commit mass murder.

This shooting is eerily similar to an incident at the Washington Navy Yard less than a year ago. Aaron Alexis is accused of killing 12 and injuring several others before police gunned him down. Though the VA claims he never sought treatment, Alexis allegedly suffered from mental health issues as well, claiming he heard low frequency voices in his head. Nadal Hasan shot and killed 13 people and injured more than 30 others at Fort Hood in November 2009. I'm Cliff Judy.
