>> A weekend skiing accident put 7- time Formula One champion Michael Schumacher in the hospital in critical condition. This is the peak at a ski resort in the French Alps where Schumacher was reportedly skiing Sunday. The latest on his condition shows he is clinging to life.

>> We can say that he is fighting for his life. We judge him to be in a very serious condition. We cannot tell you what the outcome can be yet.

>> Officials at the hospital in Grenoble have been giving reporters updates since the retired German racer's accident. He owns a home not far from the peak where he went down hitting his head on a rock. 44- year- old Schumacher is by far the most successful driver in Formula One history with 7 Drivers' Championships and 91 race wins. Fellow drivers like British champion Jensen Button sent out their well wishes hoping for Schumacher's recovery. Button wrote Michael more than anyone has the strength to pull through this. Media and friends report Schumacher's life and children were by his side through the weekend.
