>> He's the newest addition to Late Night-- no, not Seth Meyers. Meyers announced his band leader Monday afternoon, and the two know each other pretty well, 47- year- old Fred Armisen appeared with Meyers on countless Saturday Night Live skits on NBC before they left the show in the last year. Meyers made the announcement over Twitter asking for " a drum roll please ," and for those unfamiliar with Armisen's skills, posting a video of Armisen playing dueling drums with Questlove on Jimmy Fallon's Late Night Show. In fact, PEOPLE notes Armisen's musical chops include his time as drummer from punk rock band Trenchmouth in the early to mid 90s.

Armisen left SNL in 2013 and his opportunities to branch out recently seemed to just continue to grow. You might remember this fantastically awkward Honda Super Bowl commercial where Armisen clings for dear life to Bruce Willis.
