## Transcript

Looks like HBO might be trying to get in on the superhero action with an adaptation of Watchmen. The network confirmed to Collider it's in talks with film director Jack Snyder on bringing some type of Watchmen series to the paid cable network. Watchmen are over. What are you suggesting we do about it? Retro- [ SOUND ] If you remember, Snyder directed the 2009 adaptation of Watchmen, which received a lukewarm reception from critics and at the box office. But the original comic from Alan Moore about cold- war era paranoia and psychologically damaged superheroes. It's one of the most critically acclaimed works in the genre.

We still don't know exactly what Snyder is pitching to HBO. There is some speculation it could be something based on the Before Watchmen prequel series from 2012. Or maybe not. It could be something that picks up where Snyder's original film left off. Or he could be sticking with Moore's original 12 issue series. To be clear just because this is a DC property and a Schneider project it doesn't mean that it exists in the same world as DC's other cinematic properties. The original comic didn't intertwine with DC's other properties so this probably won't either. This does seem to be coming at a good time for HBO.

The network is in its last few years of Game of Thrones and it could be looking for another big budget hit to fill the void. [ BLANK_AUDIO ]
