>> A 1914 drawing by one of the world's most famous artists, experts estimated its value around $ 1 million, but the name of the man who won it Wednesday, not a wealthy art collector nor a large conglomerate.

>> It was offered in an online charity raffle by Sotheby's in Paris, the man from Pennsylvania was the lucky winner. He won the million dollar worth for just 140 bucks.

>> Better yet, 25- year- old Jeffrey Gonano says he put down the $ 140, or 100 euros, for his cheap chance at a Picasso because he wanted something for his living room.

>> Figured [ unk ]. I have a raffle ticket for it. I thought it was pretty cool, and, you know, obviously, I probably won't put it up in my living room now because it's just too high value of a painting.

>> Picasso's grandson, Olivier, gave the raffle his blessing. The organization that bought the painting for a little less than its million dollar appraised value hoped to raise money to help save the ancient city of Tyre in modern- day Lebanon.

>> My grandfather was a pioneer. He was happy to be the first in every kind of situation. So for sure, he was a helpful person. He was very generous, giving money around him during many difficult times.

>> The value of the drawing isn't really in Picasso's artistic execution on this one; rather, it's in his verified signature in the upper right corner. Organizers said they sold most of the 50, 000 raffle tickets they plan to issue as the raffle drew near, which would have brought in $ 7 million in all. Yeah, we're all kind of wishing we'd bought a ticket. For TIME, I'm Lauren Zima.
