>> Meet Microsoft's new CEO, Satya Nadella. Here are 5 things to know. First, 47- year- old Nadella is a Microsoft veteran. He and the company go way back more than 2 decades. Most recently, he ran Microsoft's Enterprise in Cloud businesses. But he also led research and development for the online services division, and had been VP of the business division. Number two, he's got quite a few degrees. The Indian- American got his Bachelor's Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Manipal University in India. His masters is in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin. Last but not least, he's got an MBA from the University of Chicago.

Number three, Nadella is a family man. Aside from his Microsoft family, Nadella has been married for more than 20 years and has 3 kids and once said, " Family, curiosity, and hunger for knowledge all define me ." Two of his children have special needs and in the interview last year with Paymark, he talked about the challenges of balancing work with making sure you were at home reading to your kids every night just trying hard to be a great parent. Fourth, a look at his plans for Microsoft.

>> You always tend to underestimate the real future and overestimate the near future. I mean, who knows what's gonna really happen in 10 years.

>> Now we do know from a recent interview with Quartz that he see's Microsoft's future as a devices and services company. Finally, just for fun, hot tip NPR's Elise Hu who noticed Nadella appears to be quite the fan of exclamation points judging by what looks like his Twitter account. As a Microsoft insider, Nadella isn't expected to represent a big shake- up for the company, but he is reportedly well- liked and respected within the industry. He's Microsoft's third CEO in 38 years.
