## Transcript

I get nervous around this stuff because I don't wanna hurt anything. [ SOUND ] It's like a kid. When someone says don't do that, you're like, well what happens if I do? [ LAUGH ] [ MUSIC ] Minute Man. Slow down brother. King George. Tool. Tea Party. Boring. Benedict Arnold. Good breakfast. Whig party. I had a grandma and she had a wig so I say Grandma Wig. Party. When we say what I do or just say my name or what? Hi, Lily, thank you for having the creator of [ UNKNOWN ] and also the host. Oh, me. My name's Derrick Lawrence. It was really cool being here and this is where George Washington saying good bye to his troops.

Best of lucks. TTYLs, I think is what he actually said. I read the manuscript correctly. I think G- Dubs hung out with some cool people here. I can feel them. [ SOUND ] There's a knock on the door. And standing at the door is George Washington. When I first got the role of George Washington, I thought, what did he smell like? What did he smell like? So I didn't wear deodorant, didn't brush my teeth. Is to stay in the character and I can't talk to anyone. I think he was like that. [ UNKNOWN ] that's yeah. [ UNKNOWN ] I loved my highschool History teacher Mr. [ UNKNOWN ] because he have the ability to human Historical figures.

I'm from Baltimore, and we would say, what's wrong with the Orioles this year? And he would go off for about 40 minutes, and in that last ten minutes of class he would somehow relate what's wrong with the Orioles to what we're hearing about in history, and I just love that. Oh say can you [ UNKNOWN ] I get this. I dig it. This'll work. My first goal is find a story that makes me go how didn't I learn that in school, and I think more people need to know about this. I love rivalries, not in life in the show. Finding two people that are fighting For the same thing in different ways. Oh, by the way, if you were thinking about voting for Jefferson, you shouldn't because he's dead.

Every genius in our history books stole. I haven't found one that hasn't. But, Edison? ****. Learned about him this year. Listen, I'm not even about to bull [ BLEEP ] you. This is about to be some bull [ BLEEP ]. In history, the people that made a difference did one thing, and that was, they were who they were. To be yourself, and when you believe in something, don't let anyone tell you you can't do it. It is a very cliche thing to say. This is great. But that's what I've learned by doing the show and the people that I've been inspired to learn about, that they just stuck to their guns, and killed a lot of innocent people.

I'm just kidding.
