## Transcript

What does it mean to be a leader again? For Intel, it's to have the leadership transistor technology, the leadership, silicon technology, to have the best capabilities in the world in that respect. And if you think over the last 30 plus years of transistor innovations, Intel has been responsible for bringing them to leadership manufacturing. So, in many respects, this is resuming the role that we have played for decades. This is a really important piece of the overall strategy. Get back to process, technology, competitiveness, and leadership, and we see the end of that what we've called five four year journey.

When we laid that strategy out three years ago, you know, people were like, Wow. That's so audacious. How are you ever going to pull that off. And here we are three years into it, and we see the end of making all of those things that we said come true, I do admit there's skepticism from some of the investors as well. And I think some of them when they looked at, wow, it's an expensive long term strategy. It has risk associated with it as well. We accept that those are the case. At the same time, if it takes five years to build a factory, launch a new technology and bring it online, You can't measure that on a 90 day basis.

You know? This is a multi year journey. That's what I asked the board of directors to sign up for. That's what I signed up for. We're bringing advanced ships manufacturing back to America after 40 years, and it's going to transform our semiconductor industry, a pillar of a modern economy. Now, when we measure the Chips act today, it's like, uh, this is pretty good because we've seen projects from Intel and Micron and TSMC and Samsung and others across the industry started to return to the US. So we say, it is having that domino effect. The success patterns that we've already demonstrated, you are clearly saying the economics, the job creation, right?

And the migration of the industry is already well underway. You combine intelligence with experience and you get wisdom. I would hope today that I'm a bit more humble as life causes you to be a bit less smart and more wise, but still passionate about the transformative power that technology can have. So it's a most challenging assignment, one I feel uniquely called to go do, and one that I'm confident that we're going to pull off, but it's not without its challenges along the way.
