So if you find yourself with a extra thousand dollars, one thing you can do is try to invest it and make another thousand dollars off of it. Now, we don't want you to go crazy. You shouldn't be investing in really, really small companies. You shouldn't be investing in penny companies. You should actually be going for companies that have substantial value and, solid earnings. Ratings and dividends. So we've sort of broken it down based on the number of shares you can buy with $ 1000. $ 1000 can get you very close to one share from Priceline. Priceline has solid earnings, good dividends, and they have really only like 4 % global market share, so they have a lot of room to grow.

For about $ 1000 you can buy about ten shares of Apple. You know, you probably own a Mac, you probably own an iPhone, this is a way to actually own the company. It's trading relatively cheaply, and it also has a solid dividend. So, it's a good value play. For about $ 1000 you can buy about 50 shares of Ford. Ford is making inroads to China, it's got about 5 % market share in China. Drivers as it develops as an economy. It also has a solid price to earnings evaluation, and it has a solid dividend. So for about $ 1, 000 you're gonna have trouble getting into some mutual funds. Vanguard, for instance, has a minimum investment of about $ 3, 000.

So we've picked three funds with a minimum of less than $ 1000 that you can get access to. These are actively, managed funds so they have a little bit higher expense ratio. But they've outperformed their peers over the last three, five and ten years. So for about $ 1000, you can get access to Oakmark Select. [ INAUDIBLE ] and this fund is run by portfolio manager Bill Nygren / h amongst others. This fund is overweight financials. Three of their top holdings include MasterCard, JP Morgan and bank of America. Another fund that you can get into for a thousand dollars is the Schwabb dividend equity fund.

It's run by Jonahs [ UNKNOWN ]. And with this fund, you have access to a lot of big companies. Three of their largest holdings include Pfizer, ExxonMobil, and Johnson & Johnson. And the last one we have is the Nicholas Fund, it's run by Albert and David Nicholas. With this fund we have more mid- cap holdings. So you have access to companies like Valeant Pharmaceuticals
