## Transcript

In [ UNKNOWN ], protesters stand off against police once again. Continuing their crackdown from the day before, police were determined to clear the entire [ UNKNOWN ] road protest site. And the occupiers were helpless. Student leader Joshua Wong was at the scene. A shouting match ensued after he tried to block the bailiff's from removing the barricades. [ NOISE ] Riot police moved in quickly and effectively, pushing the protestors back so the blockade could be brought down. Anyone who got in their way, we were told, would be arrested. Using electric saws they tore through the first barriers within minutes.

On both sides of Nathan Road, police were making ground. Protestors could only watch and retreat as the police stormed through what had been their home for the past 60 days. The remains of a hastily finished breakfast left abandoned on a table newspapers chairs and blankets where swept away piece by piece section by section police inched up the road. Protesters and journalists were forced back. At each barricade, police pushed protesters further up Nathan Road, while those behind them tore down the barriers. Some protesters tried to salvage the debris to build another blockade, but their efforts were futile, as police bore down on.

Others looked like they would fight. But when the police charged, everyone ran. At this barricade lies the remains of a shrine. A woman prays before resuming her protest. Steadily, the police push the occupiers and their camp out of Nathan Road. All that was left, was to clear the debris. By mid morning, for the first time in well over a month, cars could drive up Dunder Street and onto Nathan Road. The [ UNKNOWN ] protest site is normal.
