I'm here today to welcome the newly governor- elect for the State of Georgia to take my position after the inauguration on the second Monday in January of next year. It is traditional that at this point in time after the election That there be a transition phase so that the new governor and their staff will be ready to resume full responsibilities once the actual inauguration occurs. And that is the purpose for us being here today. I wanna thank all of you for being here. And it is my honour at this time to introduce to you the soon to be new governor of the State of Georgia, Brian Kemp. [ APPLAUSE ] Well, thank you all so much for being here this morning and thank you Governor Dale for having Matty and I today.

On Tuesday as you know, we earned a clear and convincing victory at the ballot box, and today we're beginning the transition process. We will work together in the days, weeks and months ahead to ensure a smooth transition that keeps our state on the part of prosperity, growth and opportunity. In addition to having the right team, you need energy and focus. That is why effective 11: 59 AM today, I'm stepping down as Secretary of State. I'm proud of what we have accomplished over the years as Secretary of State. We've used technology, innovation To upgrade our systems, enhance cyber security and save taxpayers millions of dollars.

We've cut red tape and we've set records in voter registration, corporate filings and licensing. It's easy to vote and hard to cheat in Georgia. The numbers underscore this simple truth. My sights are set on Georgia's future, on serving Georgia families, on building a safer, stronger state.
