## Transcript

>> With the resurging Obama, surging past Hillary in Iowa and creeping up on her in New Hampshire, we were curious if the people who came out on this cold Manchester night were coming as potential voters or true believers.

>> I think people here see it as a responsibility to really get to know the issues and find out where the candidates stand.

>> You know, I have not even come close to making up my mind yet.

>> I'm open for a lot of better changes.

>> I'm still undecided.

>> He's at the top of my list, but that's one reason I'm coming.

>> And if they were believers, who do they believe in?

>> I think that somebody here, but I'm not positive who it is. Somebody is bringing along from some show.

>> Then we've heard Obama speak and we're convinced.

>> Yeah.

>> I've been here to support Obama, but just came to see Oprah, too.

>> Yeah, exactly.

>> I'm here for Oprah Winfrey. That's the honest to goodness, too.

>> We also asked them, why Oprah and Obama?

>> I think they're both charismatic.

>> They're both from Chicago.

>> They're both brilliant.

>> They're both African- American.

>> They both have some really good ideas, and that's why Oprah is. She just speaks good ideas in those far.

>> No political rally is completely spontaneous, especially when one involves such an overproduced and meticulous television star as Oprah Winfrey. But the enthusiasm, the energy, and the volume of the crowd is pretty undeniable.

>> Fired up! Ready to go!

>> Ready to go!

>> Fired up!

>> Fired up!

>> Ready to go!

>> Ready to go!

>> Ready to go!

>> And it has this chant, it's let's fire it up.

>> Fire it up.

>> Get fired up. Ready to go.

>> Ready to go.

>> Oh, that way.

>> I mean, I say that all the time now.

>> When Oprah Winfrey was ticking down the reasons why she's supporting Barack Obama, one thing she mentioned was that Barack Obama will be a president who's not afraid to talk about the meaning of race in America.

>> Understands it and wants us all to come together. I challenge you Manchester. I challenge you to see through all of those people who will try to convince you that experience with politics as usual is more valuable than wisdom won from years of serving people outside the walls of Washington DC.

>> The event tonight wasn't really about convincing the people in the auditorium. It was a pep rally, a very successful, very enthusiastic pep rally.

>> We have, you know, 15, 000 people in Oakland, California; 20, 000 people in Atlanta, Georgia; 20, 000 people in New York City. This was before, and I expect that you could be on the site now instead of BCBO before [ unk ].

>> People in the audience aren't the only people that are gonna see scenes from tonight. You're gonna see it on the news. You're probably gonna see it in ads, and the people who see that footage are the people who need to be convinced.
