There needs to be more risk taking out there, I think that, you know, things like, like Twitter and the blogosphere are so instantaneously critical that I think it's actually created a, a bit of a culture of artistic fear to, to branch out too much, because you just don't want to be slammed, you know, and I think that it's great. If you've got an instrument that can do all things then, then go for it. Try different things, you know? I don't really think of it in terms of like well maybe I'll go country next or maybe I'll go R & B next, you know? I try to use some of those influences when I can within the records.

This actual, this record, I'm gonna go Broadway now, is kinda the first time Maybe one of two times in my whole career, the Christmas album maybe being the other record where I've said to myself I'm going to stick to a theme here. [ MUSIC ] It's also about keeping people with you without alienating too, and I think you always want to kind of guide your fan base In a way that makes them feel like they're part of the journey. My favorite thing is when I'll tweet something and I'll think it's funny and like a fan will tweet me something that's like 10 times funnier. My favorite thing is when I can re- tweet a fan that has a shining comedic moment.

I'm like dad joke king. I wrote a pretty good dad joke in the car, How did the grammar teacher die? He got overly hyphenated and slipped into a comma. Yeah, you're welcome. You're welcome, you're welcome, youth of the Internet.
