An ex NYPD officer was arrested Sunday for allegedly spray painting anti semitic comments all over Burrow Park Brooklyn. A neighborhood considered by many to be the heart of the New York Jewish community. It is bothersome I guess for, that it's a former cop yes. Reminds me back of the stories my grandmother used to talk about. What she saw. 36 year old, Michael Sitiawan is accused of spray painting several swastikas and racist phrases on a Jewish school, three other buildings in the neighborhood and 15 cars. A police source who interacted with Sitiawan told the New York Daily News: something happened to this guy.

He's not well. He also said Sitiawan left the department in 2007, because of issues with depression. He served 2 years on the force. Police used this surveillance video to help make the quick arrest. The video shows a person police believed to be Sitiawan, spraying graffiti on the Jewish school. Cameras rolled as Sitiawan left the police station in an ambulance Sunday afternoon. [ CROSSTALK ]. New York States Assemblyman Dov Hikind released this statement shortly after the incident. We have many Holocaust survivors here, many elderly people and children who are appropriately frightened by unprovoked hate attacks.

Hate attacks on our community will not go unpunished. Sitiawan is charged with 19 counts of criminal mischief as a hate crime and 19 counts of aggravated harassment as a hate crime. He's expected to be arraigned Monday. I'm Jamal Andrews.
