Australian officials do say that those two objects seen bobbing around in the Southern Indian Ocean could be debris from the aircraft. One piece is almost 79 feet long. The area where the debris has been spotted is approximately 1500 miles southwest of Perth, Australia. In that vicinity, the ocean is well over a mile deep, if not deeper. Officials say satellites took the images Sunday but the huge volume of imagery to sift through the detailed analysis involved, meant they didn't know about the debris until Thursday morning. And investigators are careful not to make any confirmations until the debris has been found and studied. This is a lead, it is probably the best lead we have right now, but we need to get there, find them, see them, assess them, to know whether its really meaningful or not. Its been 13 days since flight 370 disappeared, and authorities are still investigating several scenarios. Particularly the theory someone purposely diverted the plane. One of the pilots is believed to have deleted files from his personal flight simulator. Investigators are working to recover this data for possible clues on the disappearance. Seven News reports six aircraft, a naval ship, a commercial ship, and satellites all combed the search area before nightfall Thursday without finding anything. Searchers plan to resume Friday at dawn. Thanks for watching.
