A lot of the time it can feel like the system is stacked against you, to block you. I was living out in New York auditioning and I was noticing the bulk of things that I'd be going in for would all be the part of girl who's relative, or boyfriend had been shot. It is that kind of viewpoint that makes People think that they're stories, if they're not white aren't valid or universal and that's just not true. They all want to just be able to play a regular person.

And it doesn't have to be about our race, it could just be about our life experiences. We do have to actively make change for the better because if we just assume that That different people are going to be allowed through these doors by like, I don't know, some like random act of whatever. Then it's not going to happen. I love being an American, but it's so important for us to criticize it [ MUSIC ] Fall short. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
