Honestly, it's just been such a blessing to have achieved something of this magnitude. Never in a million years did I think I would leave this Olympic games as a Olympic medalist. So, it's been a very surreal experience. For me. [ MUSIC ] You know, I think a lot of people are surprised to see that there are Muslim women in the United States participating in sport at this level. And that's kind of been this trending theme, especially when I encounter Muslims from other countries here. A lot of them are surprised to find out that I'm an athlete for the United States. People just assume that I'm Arab, and I'm not. I want people to see that side of Muslim Americans, that we come in all these different shapes, colors, and sizes, and we're not this one idea that people have. [ MUSIC ] Not everyone is really that accepting of the realities of Muslim Muslim Americans right now. People don't want to believe that it's difficult being Muslim in America right now. When I think of police officers, obviously, I do think about my dad. I think about my dad's brothers. I have more than one uncle who also served in the North Police Department in New Jersey. And I think of them in a sense of them being public service. They're there to protect us and Right now we're in this moment in our society where that's not happening. You now have, you know, a specifically minorities losing their lives at the hands of the police. I'm not really sure what needs to change but I know that as African American. I am afraid if I'm pulled over by a police officer, so you shouldn't have to have that fear when you're dealing with someone who's there to serve and protect. There has to be some type of conversation had that can help not just police officers make better decisions, but also hopefully save lives. It's just been a phenomenal experience for me, and walking alongside so many strong prominent athletes, representing in my opinion, the strongest nation From the sports perspective in the world that I couldn't ask for anything more. It's been a great experience.
