They're upset. >> Prosperity is not just gonna trickle down. -[ unk ] I was wondering what it is that's gonna actually help those people out? >> Really the match that lit this fire was Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. They're the ones, that with the encouragement of Senator Obama and his cronies and his friends in Washington that went out and made all this risky loans. >> The biggest problem in this whole process was the deregulation of the financial system. >> If we stabilized the housing market which, I believe, we can if we go out and buy up these bad loans so that people can have a new mortgage at the new value of their home. >> What sacrifice-- sacrifices will you ask every American to make? >> We're gonna have to tell the American people that spending is gonna have to be cut in America. >> Each and everyone of us can start thinking about how can we save energy in our homes. >> I want to know what you would do within the first 2 years to make sure that Congress moves fast as far as environmental issues like climate change. >> I have disagreed strongly with the Bush administration on this issue. >> Senator McCain and I actually agree on something. He said awhile back that the big problem with energy is that for 30 years politicians in Washington haven't done anything. What Senator McCain doesn't mention is he's been there 26 of them. >> It was an energy bill on the floor of the senate loaded down with goodies, billions for the oil companies and it was sponsored by Bush and Cheney. You know who voted for it? You might never know, that one. You know who voted against it? Me. >> You gotta have somebody who's fighting for patience and making sure that you get decent affordable health care. >> As you notice he starts talking about government? He's starts that government will do this and government will do that. >> For my mother to die of cancer at the age of 53 and have to spend the last months of her life in a hospital room, arguing with insurance companies. >> Talk softly but carry a big stick. Senator Obama likes to talk loudly. >> As Senator McCain suggests that somehow I'm green behind the ears and I've just spouting off and he's [ unk ] responsible. >> Thank you very much. >> Senator McCain, this is the guy whose saying bomb, bomb, bomb Iran. >> Ronald Reagan famously says it's a Soviet Union with the evil empire. Do you think that Russia under Vladimir Putin is an evil empire? >> I think they've engaged in an evil behavior. >> Senator McCain? >> Maybe. >> Maybe? >> I'm hopeful, that all of you are prepared to continue this extraordinary journey that we call America.
