## Transcript

Welcome to the PageCast. It's Tuesday, January 1st. Happy New Year. I'm Mark Halperin in Des Moines, Iowa with your three things to watch for in politics today. First, Mike Huckabee-- the National Press didn't think he did a very good job on Monday in not unveiling his new negative ad. Watch to see how he's treated through the media filter [ unk ] in Iowa on Tuesday as he campaigns. Second, the spinning of the polls-- several new polls out in Iowa including most prominently Des Moines Register poll, watch to see if any candidate gets any advantage out of that and sends that momentum. Barack Obama and Mike Huckabee, the leaders in that poll certainly are trying to get momentum out of it.

Watch to see how much that forenames the coverage of the caucuses. And then finally, my broken record number three mistakes, several candidates and their surrogates have made errors in the last few days. None, however, really define the new cycle in any way. Watch to see if anybody does that today and how it's taken advantage of. Those are your three things to watch for in politics. You can get all the political news all day long right here on The Page. I'm Mark Halperin in Des Moines. Thanks for watching the PageCast.
