[ MUSIC ] For your late night highlight, Ellen Pompeo told Jimmy Kimmel about the moment she saw her new baby girl conceived. I looked into the microscope and I saw the embryo. Wow. We saw the baby. And then they inseminate her. [ LAUGH ] And then we hold hands and we prayed. [ LAUGH ] And now we have a gorgeous baby girl. Wow. Congratulations. Yeah. [ APPLAUSE ] That's great. Ellen actually kept the news of her new bundle of joy, Sienna May. Under wraps for two whole months. She was born via surrogate. Before the actress' chat with Kimmel, she had announced the birth of her daughter on who say Thursday.

Ellen posted a photo of the little one and her husband Chris Ivory. Writing welcome to the world. We love you more than words can say. Ellen also thanked her entire Shondaland TV fam on Twitter for keeping her secret for so long. So that she and her husband could enjoy these first few weeks. Released privately, but no one is really surprised Allen is good at secrets. When she married her now hubby Chris, in November 2007, it didn't get out for five days, even though then New York mayor Michael Bloomburg was a witness.
