Tom Ford makes a big announcement in the subtlest of ways. Richard had gone through something also quite tough in his life. Richard is your partner? Richard yes, 27 years and we're now married, which is nice. Congratulations. And thank you Congratulations. Yes, yes. Fantastic. Yap. Ford nonchalantly announced his marriage to journalist Richard Buckley during an interview at a London Apple store. Like the 52 year old designer said, he and his 64 year old Buckley have been together for 27 years. They met at a fashion show in the 80s. Ford's career was just kicking off and Buckley was a Vogue editor.

And according to Women's Wear Daily, it was pretty much love at first sight. At a 2012 event Ford said, I went to a fashion show and this silver- haired guy was staring at me with these piercing water- blue eyes. It scared me because I absolutely saw and knew my entire future. We had three dates. We were living together four weeks later. He gave me the keys to his apartment and we have lived together ever since. At that same event Ford said he absolutely wanted to marry Buckley. They just wanted the federal government to recognize same sex marriages first. If I died tomorrow right now, Richard would have to sell things, change his life because half of it goes right to the federal government.

So we do not have the same benefits that, that heterosexual couples have, and I would marry Richard in an instant. Obviously, a lot can change in a couple of years. In that time, the couple also welcomed a son. Now one year old Alexander John Buckley Ford. All we have to say is congrats to the happy family. Thanks for watching, I'm Bryce Sander.
