## Transcript

>> Don't wanna be an American Idiot. Don't want a nation under the new media. It's a great honor to be one of two bands chosen to do the rock band debut.

>> Unless the Beatles. It's always good to have a Beatles [ unk ] for a while.

>> Yes.

>> I like those, yes. They're pretty good. They're bigger than Jesus. Just ask them. I only think of 45 years, so that's cool.

>> Yes. It's pretty fun watching the slideshows. I guess we were there in every single picture. We happen to be there, so good memories.

>> Yes. A lot of the archive footage I've never seen which is, you may have seen like one-- we might have seen one picture from that photo shoot or something but never saw on the other one so it's kind of a kick to go back and look at it.

>> It's cool to see the photo credits and remember like what photographers took pictures and stuff. I think rock band will inspire kids who might not ever picked up anything, that even remotely looked like a guitar or drum sticks or sit on drum kit to do that. I think it's cool. And you know, if they're stoked about it, they're already in a room, really, really close to kind of understanding what might be like to be in a band. Just add instruments and they're gonna wanna learn probably.

>> Yes, I mean before I think a kid would be in his room and put on a record and play air guitar. Now, he actually have something in his hands. And then they're getting turned on new songs that I normally wouldn't be turned on to, whether there are other games, I have different bands and classic bands and new bands or whatever. And it kind of creates a center for people to actually kind of go up like a music gathering because music is so spread out. It's all over the place. You can get it anywhere. You could steal it anywhere. You know, there's no MTV used to have videos, well they don't have videos anymore.

You know, there used to be things like American bands, that doesn't exist. There used to be countdowns, there's no countdowns anymore. So, there used to be things like that but I think what is happening right now with games like rock band is that people are actually being able come together and music is starting to get discovered through pop culture, you know.

>> You know I'd like to see calm wave songs in a rock band format.

>> You need about 17 more instruments though.

>> I don't know. I mean, I can't really speak for a genre of music all I can really speak for is Green Day. And as far as us, we're kind of thrill seekers. We're sort of into just, you know, new ideas and new ways of doing things you know and whatever medium that it is. It could be a Broadway play, it could be, you know, it could be a video game or whatever. I think it's just about, you know having a good taste along the way that kind of crosses over into that new mediums, you know.
