## Transcript

The market was actually quite volatile in 2014. We saw a lot of ups and downs. But net, net we ended up the year in, with double- digit gains. A lot of people are expecting that 2015 will be also better than expected. I think volatility is always gonna be expected, especially this late into a bull market. But I think the expectations are for another good, solid year. Maybe 8 to 10 % returns are what market strategists are calling for. So right now we are in the third year of a presidential term. In essence the year before a presidential election, and historically if you go back to 1900, the third year of a presidential term is the best year for stocks.

Historically it's returned about 17 %. Another reason is that we are in March we are gonna enter the sixth year of this bull market. If a bull market is. Lucky enough to survive and get into its sixth year, that sixth year tends to be very good. In fact, there have been three occasions since this has happened since world war II and the worst year, of those three occasions was an 18 % gain. So, there's reasons to be optimistic despite the expected [ INAUDIBLE ]. Right now the US economy is expected to grow you know, 3 %. You know, by historic standards that's not terrific but, we're accelerating.

Our job market is improving. On the other, on the other hand you see Japan is in its third recession in the past seven years. Europe is, about to enter its third recession in the past seven years. China is slowing down. Down. All of that global slowdown outside the United States is leading to less demand for oil, so oil prices are falling. Which actually ends up being great news for U, for the US economy and US consumers, because oil prices falling means that there's even more money in consumers' pockets. Which means you're, instead of putting the money into your gas tank, you're going to the grocery store, you're going to.

The, the shopping malls. So all of that should end up being a net plus for the US economy and US consumers. In this case, the global economy is causing oil prices to fall, but the fact that oil prices are falling could boost the US economy. So it ends up being kind of a nice little cycle. [ MUSIC ]
