## Transcript

Welcome to the PageCast. It's Wednesday, August 6th. I'm Mark Halperin in Chicago with your three things to watch for in politics today. First, we got some top veepstakes prospects out on the trail today. Evan Bayh appearing with Barack Obama, Tim Kaine, the governor of Virginia with Michelle Obama and Tim Pawlenty, the governor of Minnesota out giving some high- profile speech in Washington. Watch to see how those and others do out in their on- going auditions for the number 2 slots. Second, energy, still a big issue, again, ask any pollster. This is what's on the mind of the American people.

Watch the candidates trying to win the energy wars, lots going on that as well this week and today. And then finally, opposition research and stories out in the paper today going through the backgrounds of the candidates, watch to see if the two campaigns unleash any opposition research today to try to drive storylines one way or the other about the other side. Those are your three things to watch for in politics today. You can get all the political news all the time right here on The Page. For now in Chicago, I'm Mark Halperin. Thanks for watching the PageCast.
